对于在英国留学的同学们，一个不好的消息传来：贯穿几乎整个2月的英国高校大罢工刚刚结束，三月的罢工就又来了。
上周末，英国大学工会UCU表示：
本月英国68所大学将面临为期五天的罢工行动，除非副校长撤销削减养老金的计划，并且满足员工对薪酬和工作条件的要求，否则罢工势在必行。
这一次，足足有超过5万名教职员工将在两周内采取为期五天的罢工行动，以解决养老金、薪酬及工作条件的纠纷；与上次相同，将有超过100万的学生受到影响。
在罢工首周，39所大学将从3月21日-3月25日采取五日罢工行动；在次周的罢工行动中，29所大学将从3月28日-4月1日采取五日罢工行动。

那么，究竟为什么英国会有如此大规模的罢工现象呢？
UCU预估，英国目前的通货膨胀率为7.8%，这也就意味着自2009年以来，教职工的实际薪酬下降了超过25.5%；另外，超过7万名教职工是以不安全的合同聘用的；英国大学的性别薪酬差距高达16%，残疾人薪酬差距为9%，种族薪酬差距则更高——17%。
与此同时，工作人员也正在经历与工作有关的压力：至少有超过一半的人可能有抑郁症的迹象。
